Western offers emergency funds through financial aid as well as different academic departments.
Student Emergency Funding Resources
On Campus
Available to students who receive the Passport to Careers Scholarship and are therefore a Western Success Scholar. Additional emergency funding is available for unforeseen emergency expenses to help with academic and personal success. Contact SuccessScholars@wwu.edu if you are part of Western Success Scholars and need emergency funding.
Organized through the Financial Aid Office, The Emergency Loan program is available in 30, 60, or 90-day repayment periods to assist students with occasional cash flow emergencies. The loan will not pay tuition or housing charges on your Western student account. Loans are between $50-$900.
Students can apply for financial assistance through the financial aid office for unforeseen circumstances and emergencies. Typical requests are $500-$800. If approved, funds take approximately a week to disperse.
Designated for students majoring in Music.
Designated for Business and Marketing Students.
Woodring students can apply for a critical need scholarship for an amount up to $500.
